gobble...gobble

thanksgiving...perhaps a busier holiday than xmas, well, busier at work anyways. the three day work week takes it's toll on a person. i know i've been extremely busy at work this week and now i'm on 'shutdown'. my mind has quit working for the full workday and it's already in vacation mode. i love thanksgiving so much more than xmas. i don't even like xmas, but thanksgiving is a time for me and my family to eat amazing food and relax. no stress, expectation or lack of therefore. the last couple years we've been headed to montana to my brother's and his family's house. the only thing i dread is the 1734 mile road trip (hooray for the lower gas prices), but it always gives me plenty of time to reflect and convince myself of new idea and plans. however, i always get caught in some sort of snow storm when i'm driving, never fails. this year i am driving my jeep, 170k miles on it and i hope it makes it, at least it will handle the road condition better than a rental car. my rental car took quite a beating last year, thanks to a deer.
this turkey day will be much quieter without a brother, sister and nephew joining us. other plans have been substituted due to less visiting time with the family. pheasant hunting is in order, i haven't hunted with my brother and father in a long time. i'm excited to see my family and my year old nephew in whom i haven't seen for some time.
safe travels to you and yours...don't forget to save room for pie!
