spring is here

spring is upon us and i love it. everyone gets ansy, creative levels are higher because of being cooped up all winter, people are out-and-about doing things, coming out of hibernation if you will. time to exchange clothing for lighter ones. more daylight. being able to bring your dog to the park without losing the ball on the first throw. changing fluids and prepping your moped for the summer. flowers will begin to bloom. it's also the time for baseball, spring training, teams preparing for the season filling rosters. playing softball, horseshoes, bocce ball, frisbee and grilling in the park. the lakes open up for wakeboarding and fishing. camping. endless possibilities.
it's called mud season where i live. businesses will slowly began to close for weeks at a time while the local owners take their vacations. the businesses that remain open will have wicked specials for other locals to enjoy. mud season also means end of snowboarding. the last tracks on the hill are being made without jackets, with plenty of sunscreen, dark glasses and longer hours on the mountain.
many people don't like spring or the mud season. i do. it's part of change and change is good. things are awesome right now because of it and spring time only emphasises the feelings. so get outdoors and enjoy the changing seasons. everythings needs change at some point.

hey now it's the sun!

as you may have noticed, i've had a hard week. don't fret pet. the sunshine is out once again and since i've enjoyed conveying my thoughts through lyrics, i'll post another.

The selfish they're all standing in line...
Faith in their hope and to buy themselves time.
Me, I figure as each breath goes by,
I only own my mind.

The north is to south what the clock is to time.
There's east and there's west and there's everywhere life.
I know I was born and I know that I'll die.
The in between is mine. I am mine.

And the feeling it gets left behind...
All the innocence lost at one time...
Significant behind the eyes, there's no need to hide.
We're safe tonight.

The ocean is full cause everyones crying,
The full moon is looking for friends at high tide.
The sorrow grows bigger when the sorrows denied.
I only know my mind. I am mine.

And the meaning it gets left behind...
All the innocence lost at one time.
Significant behind the eyes, there's no need to hide...
We're safe tonight.

And the feelings get left behind...
All the innocence broken with lies.
Significance between the lines, we may need to hide.

And the meanings it gets left behind...
Oh the innocence lost at one time
We're all different behind the eyes.
With no need to hide.

ramble on?

what causes people to fight the universe? people make decisions everyday that they know aren't the right ones, whether it be career, love, family, friends or personal choices. do they make them because it's the easy path? do they do it because they're scared of the outcome of the other path? are we merely trying to convince ourselves of someting. in the end it isn't natural, it isn't right, it's complicated, unexplainable even after you've made the choice you have to live with where you're stuck in this confused state to the point where you feel lost. hence the lyrics provided below:

Know a man, his face seems pulled and tense
Like he's riding on a motorbike in the strongest winds
So I approach with tact, suggest that he should relax
But he's always moving much too fast
Said he'll see me on the flipside
On this trip he's taken for a ride
He's been taking too much on ...
There he goes with his perfectly unkept clothes
There he goes...

He's yet to come back, but I see his picture
It doesn't look the same up on the rack
We go way back

I wonder about his insides
It's like his thoughts are too big for his size
He's been taken, where, I dont know?
Off he goes with his perfectly unkept clothes
And there he goes...

And now I rub my eyes, for he has returned!
Seems my preconceptions are what should have been burned
For he still smiles, and he's still strong
Nothings changed, but the surrounding bullshit
That has grown

And now he's home, and were laughing like we always did
My same old, same old friend
Until a quarter-to-ten

I saw the strain creep in
He seems distracted and I know just what is gonna happen next
Before his first step, he's off again
